How the plan works
For each track, Own the Set works out one way to own it, trying these in order:
- Your library: a file you have.
- A CD you own, marked to re-rip (a reminder).
- Bought: a track you’ve ticked as bought on your shopping list.
- Your record pool, if you subscribe.
- A free download.
- An album bundle: a release that costs less than its tracks bought singly.
- A single purchase: the right version in DJ quality, at the lowest price.
- A second-hand CD from Discogs, only when no store sells the track as a DJ-quality download.
- Not found: nothing to buy yet.
When no store sells it in DJ quality, a file you own that’s below DJ quality still counts as yours, flagged. Tracks you set aside, For later or Not needed, cost nothing.
You can change which version the plan points you to: Plan this version, under a store’s other versions on the track’s page, makes the plan find that version instead of your playlist’s, in every playlist. Use this picks one store’s copy, and Undo my pick returns it to the plan’s choice.
The sections
Section titled “The sections”Every screen groups tracks the same way, each with its own colour:
| Section | What’s in it |
|---|---|
| Downloads to buy | Single tracks and album bundles |
| Already yours | Your library, bought, re-rip reminders, pool and free tracks |
| Physical copies | Second-hand CDs |
| Still to find | Not found, or not checked yet |
| Set aside | For later and not needed |
A track in several playlists is planned once.
